ABSTRACT

This study aimed to identify the current status and suggest directions of exercise rehabilitation area based on statements of service providers who had experiences of operation in the exercise rehabilitation programs as part of a rehabilitation service for children with disabilities. For the purpose, this study intensively interviewed each of 20 exercise rehabilitation service providers for the project. As a result of analysing the results of the survey qualitatively through a continuing comparison analysis, this study obtained three themes and seven sub-themes as follows: First, the subjects were aware of the identity of exercise rehabilitation in diverse perspectives. Second, the subjects were making efforts to enhance their capability in exercise rehabilitation service. Third, for practical application of the program, improvement of textbooks and manuals should be politically supported. Based on the results, this study identified the identity of the exercise rehabilitation and suggested supports for enhanement of capability of rehabilitation service providers and development of better rehabilitation program and strategies for rehabilitation service for children with disabilities.
