ABSTRACT

This study examines user perceptions and satisfaction in two local government-operated larchiveums - Namwondaumgwan and Jeungpyeong Archives - and analyzes how these factors influence perceptions of community contribution and local identity. To achieve this, online and offline surveys were conducted with users of both institutions, resulting in a total of 100 responses. The results show that users’ awareness of the concept of a larchiveum was relatively low. However, the extent to which they recognized the institutions as larchiveums had a significant effect on overall satisfaction. In addition, achievement of usage purposes significantly influenced perceptions that larchiveums contribute to local identity. Differences were also identified between the two institutions in several variables, which appear to stem from differences in operational methods and user behavior patterns. The findings highlight the need to strengthen institutional identity, design services centered on user goal attainment, and develop customized operational strategies that reflect user needs for the effective operation of larchiveums.
