AB - This study explores how pastors perceive and utilize IT technologies within the changing ministry environment of the digital age. Focusing on the use of digital platforms such as social media (SNS) and church websites, the research aims to propose effective strategies for digital engagement in church ministry. A nationwide survey was conducted among pastors in Korea to examine their awareness of IT, usage frequency, criteria for staff recruitment, and methods of communication. The findings indicate that pastors tend to prioritize spiritual attitude and a sense of calling over technical expertise when selecting ministry staff. Larger churches showed a higher awareness of the importance of IT capabilities. SNS was actively used for worship announcements, event promotion, and sharing of spiritual messages, functioning as an informal communication tool. In contrast, church websites were mainly used for official information delivery, with limited two-way interaction. These results suggest that digital tools are not merely auxiliary but can serve as strategic assets for enhancing communication and expanding ministry. Therefore, pastors must shift their perception of IT and develop digital literacy through structured education and support systems. This study provides foundational data for designing future-oriented ministry models that integrate technology with spiritual leadership in a balanced and meaningful way.
