ABSTRACT

Purpose: The purpose of this study was designed to identify the factor influencing attitude after analyzing the relationshipbetween attitude, experiences related with the disabled and stigma toward an adult with a disability in nursing college students. Methods: The subjects of this study were 145 among nursing college students in Daejeon. Data were collected during May,2012. Structured questionnaires were used for data collection. Data were analyzed by descriptive by statistics, t-test, Pearsoncorrelation coefficients, and simple regression analysis of SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The major findings of this study wereas follows : There was a significant relationship between stigma and attitude toward adult with a disability(r=.509, p=.000). Attitude of significant factor explained 25.4% of stigma toward adult with a disability in college students(F=49.984, p=.000). Conclusion: Findings of this study suggest the need for development of intervention strategies and clinical education todecrease negative attitude and stigma toward adult with a disability.
