ABSTRACT

This study aims to examine the state of practical dance education by conducting a comprehensive survey of courses and programs offered by universities with practical dance departments. Despite the role of practical dance in expanding the foundation of popular and Korean dance arts, many programs still adhere to traditional dance-focused curricula, revealing issues such as limited specialization and a lack of differentiated content. Through data collection and literature analysis, this study identifies the need for enhanced expertise and tailored content in numerous institutions. To address these challenges, the study proposes developing systematic, specialized courses and refining educational materials to promote the independence and sustainability of practical dance education in university settings.
