AB - Though Chinese and Korean belong to different language types,Chinese and Korean have the similar cognitive mode and language function due to their geographical position. Therefore, we suggest teaching Chinese grammar by comparing with Korean grammar from the perspective of typological universal. We attempt to expound the importance of teachers’ having the knowledge of bilingual grammar in order to overcome the difficulties in teaching Chinese grammar by comparing Chinese and Korean grammar. The following are discussed:
1. The functional typological characteristics of Chinese and Korean and contrast on the forms and markers of topic in both languages;
2. Contrast of the cognitive features of demonstrative pronouns in Chinese and Korean;
3. The teaching approaches to long attribute in Korean;
4. Teach fugitive sentence in a contrastive and textual way.
