AB - This paper analyzes a case study in which Lu Xun's The True Story of Ah Q (阿Q正傳) was used as a text in the mandatory liberal arts course “Reading Classics of Great Literature” at P University. The following research findings were obtained. Firstly, based on Lu Xun’s life and writing, The True Story of Ah Q was revealed to be a classic that satirizes the contradictions between traditional Chinese society and revolution, while exploring the essence of human nature, making it a work open to continuous reinterpretation. Secondly, the study confirmed that The True Story of Ah Q is significant as a great literature that supports the implementation of a teaching plan incorporating reading, discussion, and writing reviews. Lastly, it was found that Lu Xun's literary works hold competitive value not only in the online platform like MOOC courses but also in interdisciplinary liberal arts courses. This suggests that Lu Xun’s works can be effectively utilized not only in Reading Classics related subjects but also in a wide variety of liberal arts subjects.
