ABSTRACT

Li Ziqi's videos have emerged as a unique cultural phenomenon, renowned for their poetic portrayal of traditional Chinese culture and the idyllic charm of Eastern rural life. Her content has achieved remarkable success not only in China but also on international platforms, making her a symbol of Chinese cultural representation. Li Ziqi's works transcend linguistic and racial barriers, garnering admiration from audiences of diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds. This study takes Li Ziqi's videos as the research object, with the high and low context theory as the starting point. Through the framework of the high and low context theory, it systematically analyzes the cultural characteristics of high and low context in Li Ziqi's videos, and explores why Li Ziqi's videos can resonate widely among different national cultures, thereby summarizing the causes of the "popularity" of Li Ziqi's videos. Li Ziqi's videos present a fusion of high and low context characteristics through poetic narration and strong visual symbolism. This fusion enables her videos to not only move audiences in China and East Asia but also attract low-context cultural audiences worldwide, making Li Ziqi's videos highly cross-culturally appealing. The content of Li Ziqi's videos combines both high and low context communication characteristics, satisfying the psychological and social needs of audiences from different cultural backgrounds. This paper provides a new research perspective for the dissemination of traditional Chinese culture and also offers certain insights into cross-cultural understanding and communication.
