ABSTRACT

This study attempted to estimate the effect of recreation demand and economic value depending on variation of the quality of historic scenary of cultural heritage resources using the Hypothetical Travel Cost Method. The HTCM was derived from the Count Data Model(i.e. Poisson and Negative Binomial model). The Consumer Surpluses were also estimated and compared using the derived models. The results of this study showed that the recreation demand and values varied depending on the variation of the quality of historic scenary. The relationship was stronger especially when the current quality of historic scenary is deteriorated. Under the situation of deterioration, the effect of quality of historic scenary of cultural heritage resources on demand and values was larger than the other situations.
