ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to estimate the appropriate model of travel cost method using the diagnostic analysis. The travel cost model which was estimated through OLS method was transformed to fit with FGLS and AR(1) models. The researchers also estimate the consumer surplus of the historic heritage visitor resources, the Warwick Castle in UK, using zonal TCM and individual TCM. From the on-site survey, the results show the valuation using ITCM is significantly greater than ZTCM. In addition, the CS result proved that the original OLS model was different from the transformed model. In conclusion, writers indicate that selection of functional form of demand equations is important in estimating consumer surplus.
