ABSTRACT

This study attempted to define the determinants of business performance of 30 higher rank Korea outbound travel agencies by analyzing time series data from 2000 to 2009. A double log outbound travel demand model was established in which total sales, the number of people were considered as dependent variables, while national per capita income(PGDP), exchange rate(REX), and dummy variables were considered as the independent variables. Result showed that national per capita income(PGDP) made the most significant positive impact on the performance of the outbound travel agencies. Results also indicated that exchange rate also made negative significant impact on the performance of the gravel agencies. These result imply that the national income and exchange rate are important independent variables that determine the travel agencies business performance. Limitations and future research directions were also discussed.
