ABSTRACT

This study was to identify the differences between pre and post visit image of Jeju island as a tourist destination. Data were collected from 247 Korean- Americans on April 2010. The respondents filled out their questionnaires two times: Just before they started their package tours and right before they finished the tours. Results did show any change on affective image of Jeju island among the respondents. However, results indicated that the respondents cognitive image of Jeju island dramatically decreased after their tours. Specifically. respondents' cognitive image on food, accommodation, and tourism facility was significantly lower than they had before their tours. It might means that the tourists experience on food, accommodation and tour facility were far below than they expected. Limitations and future research directions were also discussed.
