AB - 无论是从量的角度看还是从质的角度看，明清时代都是自宋代以来经济更加蓬勃发展的时期。从运河两岸开始，交通要路上建成了许多被称为市镇的中小型城市，它们如同葡萄粒一般聚集在一起，相互影响，共同发展。随着商业的发展，商人的势力逐渐扩大，并且为了追求最大的经济效益，而形成以地域为中心的商业团体，其中以安徽商人为主要代表。地处长江下游、为水运交通枢纽的扬州是明清盐商的重要聚居地．徽商以莫大的金钱和其独特的文化魅力征服了扬州．尤其是乾隆时期著名的盐商江春，为了皇帝南巡而组成内办演出，对昆曲和乱弹戏地位和演出水平的提高，都有着重要的意义．本文主要通过了解清代徽商在扬州的崛起过程，探讨徽商与扬州戏剧间的关系，进一步了解徽商对扬州戏曲发展所做出的贡献。
