ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to derive personality factor of students with mental retardation by specialities. In order to achieve the first purpose of this study, the delphi techniques was utilized to provide a standardized procedure for collecting data and reaching to a consensus agreement. Three rounds of Delphi questionnaires were designed and conducted. Participants were asked to provide the following inquiresRound Ⅰ. state about personality of students with mental retardation. Round Ⅱ. rate participant' statement about personality of students with mental retardationRound Ⅲ. derive the final consensus agreement about personality of students with mental retardationTwenty-four participants, whose specialties are special education professors, special educators, psychiatrists, parents, clinical pathologists were selected for this study. The finding for this study was composed of 8 factors(76 items) about personality of students with mental retardation. Therefore 8 factors: distractiveness, positive-reaction tendency, outdirectedness, impulsiveness, egocentrism obedience, motional lability, perseveration tendency were extracted
