ABSTRACT

This study was the first basic study on development of employer's employment selection criteria for mental retardation. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect factor on employer's attitude about employment of people with disability. For this, 62 related studies that were published after 1980's were reviewed. Studies were analysed according to contexts of employer's attitude and concerns about people with disabilities and factors were counted on frequency of studies. The results revealed that factors were eight of individual factor, job related skill factor, cost and management factor, social skill factor, employer and industry related factor, social environment factor, motivation and satisfaction factor, behavior factor according to frequency. The factors determined in this study are useful in understanding attitude and concerns of employers about people with disability. But this study was basic study for development of employer's employment selection criteria for mental retardation. The future revision and supplementation this factors through discussion with special education and vocational rehabilitation professional should be done for useful in Korea.
