ABSTRACT

This study is intended to reconsider a discussion about Korean Special Education Identity in practical aspects. The intention on reconsideration does not mean that it refers to historical errors of Korean Special Education or it discusses Educational Identity based on theoretical foundation in detail. However, through the topic of ‘Education Welfare’ that Special Education, Pedagogy and Social Welfare can access in common, by examining the issue of the topic, this study lets people recognize that the internal discussion on the former Special Education Identity has not performed practically. For the conclusion of this discussion, it focuses on researching the direction which Korean Special Education should go forward. To accomplish the goal of this study, first of all, it compares the way of access to Education Welfare of Pedagogy and Social Work. Secondly, to suggest Special Education Identity, this study sets considering Education Welfare Policy through Education Welfare Priority Program and exploring implicit Special Educational factors in the main areas of Education Welfare Priority Program as the research problem. Based on the results, it sets the relationship between Special Education, Pedagogy and Social Work and suggests necessary points to establish Special Education Identity.
