OPAC is a very important interface for user to use and search library collection and electronic resources. The purpose of this study is to analyze empirically the impact of OPAC usability on user satisfaction and loyalty in an university library setting. The OPAC functions investigated are keyword searching, integrated searching, faceted navigation, relevance ranking, spelling check, recommendations, user participation, and Really Simple Syndication(RSS), etc. This study investigated what usability effects on user satisfaction and loyalty and suggested the way to improve user satisfaction and loyalty.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends of Classification Studies in Korea from 205 research articles in five scholarly journals in Library and Information Science during the period 1986-2011. Individual article was analyzed in the aspects of specific research topics, research methodologies, data collection & analysis, and the characteristics of classification research was suggested. The amount of research paper has increased during the period and the focus of the study was on practical use and most of the papers were about new classification schedules or modification of current classification systems. Most of the papers were literature research and comparative research on classification systems by professors or graduate students. Top 9 authors in classification research were professors or lecturers and a few authors were computer science major. Therefore, various research topics, research methodologies and collaborations with other disciplines are necessary for future classification research.

Since research articles aren’t be fixed in particular system, author name of articles have been handled not by authority control but by unique identifier. While unique identifier has a tendency that moves toward open-transparent global link system, lately ORCID has been initiated. ORCID is not only link diverse existing ID system as a partner, for example, publisher’s ID systems, university’s research assessment systems, manuscript tracking systems but also let researchers self-claim by themselves to identify their own articles. Though, since ORCID run based on overseas’ publications, it is not appropriate to adapt ORCID shortly to Korean researcher’s identification. So this study suggests the direction of domestic researcher’s identification system by applying ORCID.
