AB - The purpose of this study is to analyze the city's characteristics on the cognition characteristic and the landmark landscap e by citizens and to propose for city design guideline in 21c digital era. Data for the analysis were collected in Sunchon-cit y The results are summarized as follows: The perception landscapes were Physical elements(66.2%) and Non-physical eleme nts(33.8%). The cultural characteristic of Non-physical elements was highest. The characteristics of landmarks landscape were closely related to the landscape(28.4%), the history(22.1%) and the popularity(16.4%) of places. The landmark landscapes we re in or oder of Jukdobong Park>Palmabi>Naganeupseong Folk Village>Seonamsa Temple>Suncheonbay>Songgwangsa Templ e> Mt. Jogue〉Mt. Bongwa. The Preference Landscapes were almost agreed with the results from the landmark landscape. On the other hand, the analysis results on Non-preference Landscape were closely related to the personal experiences in pla ces. The symbolic color of Sunchon-city was Green(58.4%).
