The purpose of this study is to analyze physical and textual characteristics of the Jwari-gongsin, Jwari-wonjong-gongsin and Sunseong-jwari-gongsin-nokgwon. The major findings are as follows: (1) Jwari-gongsin is the title granted to 75 people who attended to have Seongjong as King of Joseon and Sunseong-jwari-gongsin-nokgwon is the certificate granted to those Jwari-gongsin. (2) Kim Gil-Tong's Sunseong-jwari-gongsin-nokgwon which was granted to Kim Gil-Tong on June, 1472, is a roll format and has been kept by the Chungbuk National University Museum.(3) In the beginning of Kim Gil-Tong's Sunseong-jwari-gongsin-nokgwon, recorded are the title of this bull and the name of the grantee. In the main text of its, recorded are words of praise for his distinguished service, all the names of 75 Gongsins, and the criteria of granting titles to people. And the end of its, listed are the granting date and including the stamp of ‘Joseon-Gukwang-Jiin’

This study applied empirical approach in order to restore mould material for metal type wax casting method. (1) Matrix Material: wax, pine resin-added wax and paraffin were used. (2) Mould Material: any sticky clay was acceptable as main material. Graphite was useful as the subsidiary material, and its adding proportion was 20 percent.(3) Component of Alloy, Pouring Quantity and Method: it was possible to make an alloy of copper with 55 through 70 percent. The amount of metal poured was a very small quantity of around 200 grams, and conventional pouring method was also applicable.(4) Number of Character Strokes: the density of strokes was negatively related to the success of casting to some degree.(5) Success and Contraction Rate of Casting: the success rate of casting was 1.41%, and its contraction rate was 92.13%.

This study has analyzed the Seonwonboryak-sujeong-uigue(璿源譜略修正儀軌, the records about the revision of royal genealogy) of King Yeongjo's reign to examine the bookbinder and bookbinding of royal palace in the late Joseon period. In Korean physical bibliography, the study on bookbinding is still recognized as a specific area, thus the outcome of the study on bookbinder does not exist at all. This study, having a critical mind on those issues, has focused on the Sunwonboryak-sujeong-uigue(璿源譜略修正儀軌) which is the record about the revision of King Yeongjo's reign Seonwongyebogiryak(璿源係譜記略, the royal genealogy), and so analyzed the positional organization and activity of bookbinder, bookbinding instruments and necessary goods. The bookbinder of royal palace in the late Choseon dynasty, being bookbinding-personnel belonged to Gyoseoguan's japjik, had worked as an expert when the royal books were get published. They had received low wages and treatments compared to their specialty and importance they had in the role of the preservation of royal books. This study has a significance on the grounds that it gave attention to bookbinders, newly highlighted them, and proposed a model for the bookbinding of royal books through the research on the bookbinding process of Soenwongyebogiryak(璿源係譜記略).
