ABSTRACT

This study explores the views of practitioners in tourism industry regarding the competencies of students in special tourism programs of postgraduate school. Research findings reveal that competencies such as professionalism, service mind, decision-making, and communication skill were all considered very important whereas financial and accounting skills and loyalty to the company were less important. Statistically significant differences among the competencies were found by different respondent groups based on sex, education level, undergraduate major, current place of employment, and duty position.
