AB - This paper investigates the structural causality of the residents’ attitude towards participation, status of local economy and the type of tourism development based on social exchange theory. Authors found that the residents’ attitude towards participation and status of local economy significantly influenced by the type of development: small-scale and large-scale, which was intervened by perceived benefits and costs. However, it has not been found that there were significant influential relationships between the residents’ attitude towards participation and status of local economy.
