ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of community workplacereferenced vocational training on the acquisition of task adaptation ability ofa unemployed individuals of developmental disabilities. The participant werethree unemployed individuals with developmental disabilities, therefore therequest on the necessity for vocational living acquisition of adulthood. The targetbehavior which was the acquisition of task adaptation ability consisted of onesub-skill: restaurant task skills(side dishes on dining table setting, hall serving). The multiple probe baseline across participants design was used to investigatethe effectiveness of the intervention program. The community workplacereferenced vocational training used instructional techniques such as videomodeling, role playing. Along with the mutual cooperation of instructional techniquesmaintained the pattern of the package form. The result of the study indicatedthat all three individuals with developmental disabilities were effectively acquiredby the participant. Also, the newly acquired skill were maintained following thetermination of the intervention. The result of the study were discussed in theperspective of community workplace referenced vocational training for unemployedindividuals with developmental disabilities.
