ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to understand adolescents's experiences and the meaning of role playing in the community of the original character. Colaizzi's phenomenological method was utilized to analyze and report the findings from the study in other to focus on understanding the more common aspects of the participants as well as each adolescent's individual meanings. Result showed that three categories, ten theme clusters, and twenty three themes. the three categories included: (1) the experiences of having fun; (2) the experiences of exploring identity; (3) the experiences of the space only for us. Ten theme clusters are summarized in the following manner. (1) playing a role creatively; (2) expressing myself; (3) feeling fun; (4) getting together with diversity persons on community and understanding as they are; (5) the experiences of becoming the original character; (6) identity achivement; (7) creating conflicts and trying to solve them; (8) having to obey rules on community; (9) entry barriers; (10) the other aspect of myself This present study highlight the need of exploring diversity values on youth counseling setting and activity setting. and the need of understanding adolescents as they are.
