Background & Purpose: This study is a field study that explores college students' perception of school violence and how to cope with it. In the educational field where the importance of school violence is more emphasized, we would like to see a change in the perception of college students who took school violence subjects. Through this, the purpose of the study is to strengthen desirable countermeasures by exploring in detail the factors that influenced the change in perception and promoting the change in perception of school violence in the future. Methodology/Approach: The subjects of the study were 10 students in the teaching profession, and the data were analyzed according to the general photovoice research procedure through orientation, data collection through photo-taking of research participants, photo selection, conceptualizing, and codifying steps. Findings/Conclusions: As a result of the analysis, 11 subcategories were derived based on the research topics such as perception of school violence experienced by college students, perception of school violence after learning school violence, and countermeasures against school violence. The perception of school violence through photo voice was recognized as the importance of interest and prevention and the attitude and importance of active defenders in the passive role of neighbors. As a result of the study, first, participants had diverse perceptions of school violence according to their experiences of school violence and felt more negative emotions. Second, in the learning process, it was found that there were various neighbors in addition to the perpetrator and the victim. Third, it was recognized that the role of teachers as the subject of prevention and intervention was very important. Fourth, it was considered that social intervention was necessary as an expansion of the perspective on school violence. Therefore, the learning of school violence by college students who completed teaching brought about a change in their internal motivation to understand and expand awareness of school violence and to play an active role as an active preventer. Implications: Recognition and coping measures for school bullying from the perspective of College students will be provided as basic data for intervening in school bullying as a College students.

Recognition of the necessity and direction of youth activities through youth needs

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to seek the development direction of youth activities by preparing youth activities, policy directions, and specialization measures for youth activities in the region based on the needs of the youth. Methodology: To this end, a survey was conducted on 1987 youths in Gyeonggi-do on the activities desired by the youth, the facilities needed in the region, the understanding and awareness of youth activities, the perception of support for youth activities, and types of support for youth activities in the COVID-19 era, and FGI was conducted on 10 teenagers. Findings: The results are as follow. First, the activities that local youth facilities want to make and provide in the future are activities to enjoy rest and leisure, adventure activities, and career guidance activitiesrather than for a special purpose. Second, when it comes to the type of activity that youth want and the request for a youth guide, most of the youth wanted an activity that could show their initiative to some extent rather than simple participation. Third, as for the facilities that youth want to be built in the local area, there was a large demand for career experience facilities, cultural and artistic activity facilities, smart health care specialized facilities, and sports facilities. Fourth, through FGI, it showed demands such as promoting youth facilities, actively promoting self-directed and experience-enhancing programs for adolescents, the need for moving activities such as career area programs and physical activities, and preparing. Conclusions: Based on these results, it was concluded that various activities that can demonstrate youth initiative and career and physical activities should be provided for the development of youth activities, efforts to improve youth facilities, and portfolio creation should be provided. The significance of this study can be found in that it suggests the necessity and direction of youth activities through the needs of the youth.

A study on the Experience of Youth Utilization in Youth-only Space

Background: Leisure activities help youth grow and develop, but it is not easy for youth to spend enough leisure time due to excessive entrance examination education. Despite this situation, it is worth noting that there are youth who voluntarily use youth-only space and spend their leisure time. Purpose: This study attempted to find out what kind of experiences youth have here using youth-only spaces and to explore the meaning of youth-only spaces for them. Methodology: Ten elementary, middle, and high school youth using a youth-only space located in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, was selected and in-depth interviews were conducted between December 2021 and January 2022. Semi-structured questionnaires were used for data collection, and qualitative data were analyzed using repetitive comparative analysis methods. Findings: As a result of the analysis, 5 major topics, 9 sub-themes, and 11 semantic units were derived. First, it was found that youth use smart phones, play games, and watches YouTube, read books, and listen to music in their spare time. Second, the youth-only space provides a comfortable environment and atmosphere for youth to enjoy, where teenagers were spending time freely playing their favorite games. Third, in the youth-only space, which is a resting place of my mind, teenagers were receiving comfort and healing, and making precious memories to remember with their friends. Youth have learned that there are adults who can trust and rely on them through youth workers who treat them with warm attention and consideration. Fourth, in order to create a better youth space, it is important for youth to comply with the rules on their own, and it is also necessary to rearrange the space to create a comfortable space. Fifth, in a youth-only space where self-growth takes place, youth were growing on their own with various attempts and experiences while taking the initiative in planning activities or events. Conclusions: This study presented implications for ways to revitalize youth-only space so that youth can freely use them while enjoying leisure time.
