ABSTRACT

Purpose: The city of Seoul conducted youth centers exclusive hours and daily pilot project to support various activities for Youth. This study tried to confirm the performance of the youth center exclusive hours and daily. Methodology: To analyze the performance of the youth centers exclusive hours and daily, a survey and reflection diary analysis were conducted. The survey was conducted on 3,534 adolescents who used the youth centers exclusive hours and daily pilot project. The reflection diary analysis was conducted on 28 adolescents who participated in the youth centers exclusive hours and daily pilot program. Findings: The results of the performance analysis of the youth center exclusive hours and daily pilot project are as follows. First, the youth who participated in the exclusive hours and daily pilot project spent more time at the youth center than at the beginning of the pilot project, and their satisfaction level also increased rapidly compared to the beginning of the pilot project. Second, positive changes were found in the use of leisure time, gaining various experiences, career and aptitude exploration, relieving stress, and happiness in life. Changes in the environmental domain were also positive. Third, the result of analyzing the reflection diary, it was found to be helpful in interpersonal relationship formation, interpersonal skills, self-growth, career exploration and career decision. Conclusions: Implications based on the analysis results are: annual expansion, the preparation of standards for smooth operation and a linkage plan between youth centers, and the role of public services for after school leisure time, preparation and effort of the youth centers for the efficient operation.
