In this thesis, I argued Wang Fuzhi's view of 'costume' revealed in 『Zhouyiwaizhuan 周易內傳』 and 『Zhouyineizhuan 周易外傳』, and examined its objectivity, validity, and significance. In Chapter Ⅱ, I considered Confucianism and Huaxia people's view of 'clothes'. Along with the meaning and origin of the word ‘Hwaxia 華夏’, it was considered that the superiority of ceremonies and the nation was reflected in the word ‘Hwaxia’. In Chapter Ⅲ, I discussed Wang Fuzhi's 'costumes', which say that the core of clothing is to reflect rites in clothing, that splendor of clothing is its natural consequence, and that practicality in wearing, convenience in production, and its functionality can be compromised. From this point, I dealt with the fact that only the costumes of the Huaxia people are costumes, and the costumes of other peoples cannot be called costumes, and that the change of costumes from Han Chinese costumes to Manchurian costumes itself means the end of the world. Chapter Ⅳ, I examined the objectivity and validity of Wang Fuzhi's view of 'costume'. Here, should the convenience and practicality of clothing be conceded to rites? Can’t peoples other than the Huaxia people be included in the category of people, and since they do not adopt the rites of the Huaxia people and do not wear their costumes, have they to create a barbaric society? Discussed what to reveal. Thus, it was discussed that there is a problem with Wang Fuzhi's view of 'costume'. Lastly, this thesis also discusses the positive significance of Wang Fuzhi's view of 'costume'.
