AB - With the advent of globalization, anglicism was markedly formed in the fields of economic, social, political and cultural studies among others. The United States, where English is used as the mother tongue, is the world’s leading economy in terms of GDP volume, and prospects indicate that the US will maintain this position for several more decades. Because of this, world commerce and economy are greatly influenced by English. Nevertheless, there have been only a handful of studies on anglicism in the genre of economics and commerce. This study focuses on the anglicisms found in texts of economic genre for Korean-Spanish simultaneous interpreting (Kr-Sp SI), thus creating a base material for the practice and learning of anglicisms in Kr-Sp SI. To meet the research goal of building the aforementioned material, the following three tasks were performed: (1) screening of anglicisms in ST and TT, (2) comparison of anglicisms in ST and TT with the reference corpora of each language pair, and (3) linguistic analysis of ST and TT (Type, Token, TTR). Results indicated marked differences in the anglicism Tokens and Types between ST and TT, showing that Spanish has a more conservative stance regarding anglicisms compared to Korean. The reasons that anglicisms were more infrequently used in TT were: the strategies of SI, the characteristics of the oral text, the linguistic differences between the two languages, and the educational background in the genre of economy of the ST speaker.
