AB - This study aims to explore recent trends in research on computer-assisted interpreter training (CAIT) in China and to present implications for interpreter education in South Korea. To this end, the researcher collected 165 scholarly articles on CAIT published in China from 1999 to 2024. These articles were then analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively by research theme, methodology, target group, keyword, and journal. The study identified four stages of CAIT-related research in China (inceptive, growing, developing, and maturing periods) and described the defining characteristics of each stage. The findings show that the most extensively researched theme was technical tools, followed by education models, speech repositories, systems and platforms, and self-learning. In addition, empirical studies outnumbered both literature reviews and case studies. Drawing on the results of this meta-analysis, the study provides new insights into interpreter education in South Korea, with a particular focus on technical tools, education models, and self-learning.
