The purpose of this study is to examine practical cases of archival discourse that reflect the existential characteristics of performing arts and to explore their significance. To this end, the study reviews the discourse on performing arts archives and examines the case of MoMA’s acquisition of Dance Construction. The findings reveal that performing arts archives have evolved from the mere collection and preservation of records to an open concept that increasingly includes both tangible and intangible traces of the performing arts and the act of remembering them. The case of MoMA, which exemplifies the evolution of archival discourse through records, memory, and ultimately the combination of both records and performance, clearly illustrates this progression. This approach to performing arts acquisition highlights MoMA’s shift in role from owner to steward, leading to a reflective critique of the institutional power and authority derived from the ownership of art.

The purpose of this study is to understand how a Dance Creation for the Deaf (DCD), dance creation program for the adult hearing impaired affects their self-esteem and self-expression ability. The questions of this study are as follows. First, how does an adult hearing-impaired person affect self-esteem by participating in DCD? Second, how does it affect the ability of adult hearing-impaired people to express themselves by participating in DCD? The results of this study are as follows. First, dance creation DCD program has helped establish the self-identity of deaf people and improve their confidence and social skills by providing new experiences, creating a sense of accomplishment, and discovering their original potential. Second, by experiencing creative body expression and emotional expression activities through the DCD program, it helped the hearing impaired improve their self-expression ability, enhance creativity, and communicate positively.

The purpose of this study is to explore the essence of professional dancers’ experiences of participating in ATM classes through a phenomenological analysis. To achieve this, five professional dancers were selected as participants, and a total of 12 ATM classes were conducted. Participants’ experience reports and in-depth interview data were collected and analyzed using Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological method. The study identifies the essence of the experiences of professional dancers who participated in ATM classes, which were categorized as follows: ‘discovery of sensory differences,’ ‘development of movement strategies,’ ‘flexibility of thinking,’ ‘re-recognition of achievement,’ and ‘self-discovery and application’. Additionally, by synthesizing the research findings, the core essence of these experiences, was analyzed as ‘change in self-image’. This change in the self-image was ultimately revealed through the phenomena of ‘recovery and care’ and ‘learning, unlearning, and relearning’.
