ABSTRACT

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between high school students' focusing manner, career decision self-efficacy and career maturity, and to investigate the effect of focusing manner on career decision self-efficacy and career maturity in high school students. Methodology: we conducted a questionnaire survey of 545 high school students using the Korean version of Focusing Manner Scale-Revised(KFMS-R), Career Decision Self-Efficacy, and Career Maturity. Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted to find out the impact of focusing manner on career decision self efficacy and career maturity. Findings: First, High school students' focusing manner, career decision self efficacy, and career maturity were found to be correlated with each factor. Secondly, it was found that the sub-factors of the focusing manner had a significant influence on the sub-factors of career decision self efficacy. Third, it was found that the sub-factor of the focusing manner had a significant influence on the sub-factors of career maturity. Conclusions: This study is meaningful in that it expanded the understanding of individual differences through the study of variables affecting the career development process, and provided basic data to increase the effect of career exploration.
